Guard House

According to the reconstruction carried out in the 1920s, the space immediately after the entrance from the drawbridge was supposed to have been the guard house, i.e., the accommodation for soldiers guarding the Rocca.
The space is the result of the union of two rooms connected by an arched opening. The panels on the left would have held the straw mattresses for the soldiers to sleep on. In the room is displayed a part of a rich collection of weapons, sold by Zanvettori at Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome.
